Our School Building

Our School Building

We have worked hard over the past few years to design a school that supports our mission to offer a unique opportunity to learn in a modern setting with traditional values. Our school will ensure that students are confident, respectful and responsible young people, who are able to face the challenges of modern society. We believe that through our traditional ethos and values, we will create an environment where students are respectful for where they learn, who they learn with and who they are as unique and aspirational young people.

Not only have we carefully considered the layout of the building, we have also carefully thought about the wider environment where the children learn. The outside space around the school will be lush with wealth of vegetation as well as supporting our sustainability aims with electronic car charging points, numerous bike racks and recycling stations to highlight a few.

The building has been assessed for access to natural light to ensure bright classrooms. This ensures that every room optimises the natural light streaming into the room to support our calm, purposeful and respectful atmosphere.

Classrooms and teaching areas are grouped into subject specialisms. Our children will benefit from the ground floor largely dedicated to the arts, the first floor includes Maths, English and the library with the second floor including specialist science laboratories and humanities.

Some of the highlights of each floor are shared below:

Our school will also have an onsite gym as part of our Thinking Fitness area. The students will have access to the latest gym equipment as well as a huge sports hall and fitness studio. There are large dedicated changing areas for students to change into their kit as well as lockers for students to store their kit before and after their lessons. The building is position at the front of the school and will have glass aspects to take advantage of the views and beauty of our school setting.

As well as indoor sports, we will also have large playing fields and a MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) where students can enjoy other traditional sports such as Rugby, cricket, football and athletics.

In the heart of the school is our dining hall which is a light, bright and spacious place designed to create a calm and communal atmosphere. The hall ceiling is the height of the entire academy with skylights in the ceiling to allow light to flood the area. We expect our students to enjoy their social time and be able to dine as a community in a calm and purposeful shared space.

As part of our build, we have included a covered outside dining space for our students who wish to take advantage of the fresh area and dine in a cafe style atmosphere. With dedicated seating areas as well as an outside snack bar, our students can choose to have a light bite outside in our alfresco café area.

As well as having access to the MUGA during social times, students will also benefit from a large playground area. There will be space for children to socialise as well as participate in hard court games.
